Machine tap made of high-performance high-speed steel, with overflow shank for through threads. For through threads in unalloyed, low-alloy and alloyed steels up to 1200 N/mm² strength and cast iron. The thread is cut in a single operation. The TiAlN wear protection coating increases the surface hardness to approx. 3,500 HV. Titanium aluminium nitride is a chemical compound of the three elements titanium, aluminium and nitrogen. TiAlN is a metallic hard material with a typical black-violet colour. Advantages: The TiAlN coating enables dry machining of cutting tools; cooling is not necessary. Higher hardness, very low coefficient of friction, optimum service life.
