Product overview

New to the Scarab range in 2021, the Maven 65 is a heavy-duty twin-engine road sweeper designed to be mounted on virtually any internationally available 12 to 18 tonne GVW truck chassis. It replaces the outgoing M65T and delivers improved performance, economy and serviceability for municipal and heavy-duty contractor applications. Key improvements include a 20% increase in suction performance via the standard high-speed fan system, increased fuel capacity to 200 litres for longer on-station time and an overall fuel consumption reduction of 20%. The machine offers a carefully selected range of options to meet varied operational demands.

Drive configuration

The Maven 65 is offered in a twin-engine configuration delivering quiet, efficient auxiliary power in a self-contained unit. The auxiliary engine is positioned between the hopper and cab for easy access to service points and filters from a large service platform. The design emphasises low emissions and long service intervals without the need for AdBlue.

Suction performance

The machine uses a stainless-steel centrifugal impellor positioned to create an efficient airflow path for high suction performance with reduced power consumption. The auxiliary engine speed is infinitely variable from 1200-1550 rpm, with a 1700 rpm fan boost option for tougher environments.

Sweeping configuration

The Maven 65 can switch between single and dual sweeping modes via an intuitive CANbus control system. When suction nozzle, side brush and widesweep operate the sweep width is 2345mm; simultaneous dual sweeping reaches a 3600mm span.

Hopper

The hopper is manufactured from corrosion and abrasion-resistant 4003 stainless steel, shot blasted, primed with a two-pack epoxy and finished with a hard-wearing topcoat. The particulate screening is hinged and swings down to provide operator access for cleaning.

CANbus control system

Scarab's CANbus control and colour monitor give the driver and service team comprehensive feedback including sweeping configuration, vehicle condition, warnings and service reminders. Real-time monitoring and data logging support troubleshooting and efficient operation.

After sales support

Scarab provides market-leading after-sales support including tailored service and maintenance contracts, a dedicated parts warehouse stocking genuine parts and the option of export skid units for local mounting in specific markets.

• Water: High-pressure/high-volume pump with hand lance and self-retracting hose reel; additional dust suppression jets for suction tubes; simultaneous dual wash and sweep; additional 650 litre water tank.
• Brushes: Dual sweep (second channel brush and swivelling Widesweep); simultaneous dual sweep; adjustable pressure control for channel brushes and Widesweep; auxiliary channel brush; tilting brush; Vari Brush (variable in/out brush control).

Notes
