Product overviewThis irradiance sensor is designed for measuring solar radiation flux density in PV plants. It integrates a cell temperature sensor and is supplied with a mounting bracket and cable for straightforward installation. The sensor provides an analog 0–1.5 V output and is compatible with SolarEdge Gateway and other dataloggers accepting 0–2 V input ports.
What the sensor measuresSolar irradiance is the solar power received per unit area (W/m²). The 3S-IS-T-V uses a monocrystalline silicon reference cell and provides temperature-compensated irradiance values in W/m² suitable for monitoring and performance assessment of PV systems.
How the 3S-IS-T-V sensor works- A monocrystalline solar cell absorbs sunlight and generates current.
- A precision shunt resistor converts the cell current into a voltage signal proportional to irradiance.
- An integrated temperature sensor mounted on the rear of the cell compensates for temperature-related deviations.
- An electronic board processes measurements and computes temperature-compensated irradiance (W/m²).
- Processed data is output via an analog 0–1.5 V signal for connection to PLCs, SCADA or dataloggers.
Key features and benefits- High accuracy: IEC 61724-1 Class A compliance with uncertainty ≤1%.
- Fast response: typical 1 s response time (optionally down to 500 ms).
- Durable housing: UV-protected aluminium enclosure (IP54 standard) with optional IP65/IP68 configurations for harsher environments.
- Easy installation: supplied with mounting bracket and 3 m cable for plug-and-run integration.
- Low maintenance: designed for long service life and minimal upkeep.
