How it worksCircular water is fed tangentially from the bottom to form a rising spiral flow in the separation zone. Ore is introduced from the top feeder and dispersed into the zone. Multiple superimposed magnetic fields act in the separation area: gangue particles and weakly magnetic material are carried out by the spiral rising water and overflow with the water flow to the tailings. Individually dissociated magnetic iron particles experience a stronger downward magnetic force plus gravity than the upward water forces and are discharged through the concentrate outlet at the column bottom to form the concentrate.
