DescriptionThe RFA/HP dryer is a conveyorised continuous-throughput drying machine designed for yarn packages. It combines radio frequency (RF) energy with a forced-air flow through the packages, enabling a passing-through airflow in a continuous RF dryer. The combined RF and through‑air process increases drying efficiency and achieves high hourly productivity while operating at reduced drying temperatures.
Working principle and benefitsForced air is passed through the yarn packages and preheated by recovering heat dissipated from the RF generator. RF energy and the warm forced air jointly contribute to water evaporation. This combination improves energy use and provides precise control of product internal temperature, optimising drying uniformity and quality.
Optional enhancements — air treatment and heat pumpThe system can integrate a heat pump to improve air cooling/drying and generator cooling. With a heat pump the ambient air is treated in four stages before being forced through the yarn:
- filtration
- cooling and dehumidification
- heat recovery from the RF generator
- heat recovery from the heat pump
Control and automationThe dryer is fully automatic and managed by a PLC. Multiple process recipes for different yarn package types can be stored and recalled. Optional features include a barcode scanner for product identification and automatic machine setup, and a modem connection for online communication and troubleshooting.
Positioning, performance and advantagesThe RFA/HP dryer delivers higher hourly productivity than RF dryers with the same generator size, while maintaining lower drying temperatures. The combined RF and forced-air approach enhances process control and drying consistency for industrial textile production.
ApplicationsDesigned for yarn packages (cones, bobbins, packages) on a conveyorized line, suitable for continuous drying in textile manufacturing where uniform quality and high throughput are required.
