Product familyThe Tabor Proteus family is a set of instruments built on an advanced SDR architecture that combines high-speed waveform generation and optional digitizer capability into a responsive transceiver for RF engineering applications. It supports direct-to-RF generation, real-time feedback, and scalable multi-channel deployments suitable for EW scenario simulation, qubit control, and next-generation wireless communications.
Product summary9GS/s 16Bit 8GS Mem 2CH 8 Markers RF AWG Desktop
Key highlights- Modular design, scales from a few channels to hundreds of channels
- Fast PCIe data transfer bus enabling bidirectional waveform streaming
- Up to 16 GS of waveform memory in the Proteus family (platform dependent)
- Integrated digital IQ modulators and demodulators (DUC/DDC)
- Excellent phase noise and spurious performance
- Real-time feedback control system enabling conditional waveform generation
Detailed descriptionThe Proteus architecture integrates a high-rate RF DAC (up to 9 GS/s on RF DAC models) with an optional high-speed ADC (example option: 5.4 GS/s digitizer) and a powerful FPGA to create a closed-loop Arbitrary Waveform Transceiver (AWT). The platform supports deterministic low-latency processing in the FPGA to enable conditional waveform sequencing and real-time responses based on received signals. Typical uses include Radar Target Simulation, Electronic Warfare scenario generation, multi-channel quantum-experiment control, and Massive MIMO research.
Features (selected)- Modular, scalable and compact — PXIe-based modular architecture packs multiple generator outputs and digitizer inputs into a very small form factor for synchronized, phase-coherent multi-channel systems.
- Ultra-fast data transfer — optimized PCIe/streaming architecture for bidirectional waveform memory transfer, pulse descriptor word (PDW) real-time processing and uninterrupted streaming for long real-world sequences.
- Real-time feedback control system — integrated ADC + DAC + FPGA reduces round-trip latency and supports conditional waveform generation and closed-loop control for high-speed applications.
- Task-driven non-linear waveform sequencing — Task Table (state-machine) capability allows instant jumps between waveform segments based on real-time receiver inputs, enabling intelligent low-latency responses (e.g., DRFM-like echoes, Doppler shifts, delayed echoes).
