Application notes- PTC output (W) varies with heat-dissipation conditions: under low dissipation (no airflow) surface temperature may approach Curie temperature and power will fall; under high dissipation power increases to maintain regulation.
- Stated maximum power is under effective heat transmission (surface ~240 °C for many types). Typical delivered power depends on contact material, heat sink, dissipation area, ambient temperature and airflow (often 5%–80% of maximum; indirect water heating typically ~15%–60% of maximum).
- Customized models and tooling are available to meet special mechanical or electrical requirements (tooling cost may apply).
- Relative power example at lower surface temperature: Relative Power(@120 °C) ≈ Max Power × (120 °C – ambient) / (240 °C – ambient) — actual results depend on application conditions.
