Description

Overview The DAC8562 is a 16-bit, dual-channel, low-power buffered voltage-output digital-to-analog converter with an internal 2.5-V reference (typical drift 4 ppm/°C). The internal reference supports a 2.5 V or 5 V full-scale option and can source/sink up to 20 mA at REFIN/REFOUT. The device is monotonic with excellent linearity and ultra-low glitch energy, and it supports SPI/QSPI/Microwire/DSP-compatible three-wire serial interfaces up to 50 MHz.

Functional description The DAC8562 family powers up at zero scale until a valid code is written (power-on reset to zero scale). Devices offer low-power and power-down modes (typical power-down current ~550 nA at 5 V) and are available in small-footprint packages, making them suitable for portable and battery-powered equipment. DACxx62 devices are drop-in compatible within the family.

Additional technical notes The internal reference typical drift is 4 ppm/°C (max 10 ppm/°C) with initial accuracy of ±5 mV. The REFIN/REFOUT pin can source or sink up to 20 mA. Typical low-power figures vary by measurement method; power-down current can be ~550 nA at 5 V. DACxx62 devices are monotonic and designed to minimize code-to-code transients and glitch energy for precision, low-glitch applications.
