SL Current Generator supplies primary current or powers 50 Hz single-phase equipment for verifying current transformers. It is composed of an input winding (220 V), an output winding (≤100 A) and a through-core winding.
Construction & function- Input winding: 220 V (single-phase, 50 Hz).
- Output winding: rated output below 100 A; nameplate indicates allowable rated current through the core winding.
- Through-core (core) winding: allows multiple turns; rated current capability decreases proportionally with number of turns.
- Nickname: Current Generator.
Key features- Output current on the nameplate refers to the rated current permitted through the core winding.
- When multiple turns pass through the core, the allowable rated current decreases inversely with the number of turns.
- The ratio of nameplate output capacity to the product of output current and per-turn voltage defines the maximum turns allowed through the core at the specified output current.
- Equipped with casters for easy handling and transport.
Operating conditions / Environmental limits- Operating temperature: -5°C to +40°C.
- Operating humidity: < 80% RH.
- Designed for long-term operation at rated current.
- Allows 1.5× overload for 30 minutes.
External dimensions & variants- SL-4: 420 × 240 × 4500 mm³.
- SL-7: 600 × 350 × 700 mm³.
Weight (example)Technical specifications- Input winding: 220 V (single-phase, 50 Hz).
