The B-H Hysteresis Loop Tester BH-01 is an integrated laboratory instrument designed to measure and plot B-H (magnetic hysteresis) curves of soft magnetic materials, enabling determination of saturation magnetic induction, remanence, coercivity and permeability. It is suitable for teaching and materials characterization using samples of the same material with different orientations and properties.
Instrument components- Black box (with built-in autotransformer)
- Standard resistor
- Sampling resistor
- Integrating resistor
- Integrating capacitor
- Sample 1 (non-oriented silicon steel sheet)
- Sample 2 (oriented silicon steel sheet)
- AC ammeter
- AC voltmeter
Experimental objectives- Understand magnetic hysteresis concepts, hysteresis loops and magnetization curves; identify key ferromagnetic material quantities: coercivity, remanence and permeability.
- Learn to use an oscilloscope to plot magnetization curves and hysteresis loops.
- Determine saturation magnetic induction, remanence and coercivity from the hysteresis loop.
- Compare changes in hysteresis loops between oriented and non-oriented samples of the same material.
