PC-based automation encompasses the functions required for machine control in a compact and perfectly matched system. The real-time operating system Windows CE and the powerful hardware ensure that all tasks in the areas of control, visualisation and movement are fully covered.
Possible applications for the PC-based automation range from operational and control activities in close proximity to machines right through to tasks at the levels of processing and guidance. A particular advantage of this automation system is the possibility of establishing a productive interconnection between widely different levels of activity within a company without great expenditure.
L-force Logic & Motion contains a soft PLC and soft motion under Windows® CE and VisiWinNET® visualisation.
The multitasking and real-time capability of Windows® CE 5.0 provide a uniform and deterministic distribution of processing time between the controller and the other applications. The pulse duty factor can be adjusted in 1 ms steps, to make more or less computing power available to the PLC, depending on the application. The soft PLC runs with high precision and is thus also suitable for the control and regulation of highly dynamic processes.
The Drive PLC is a compact control system which enables easy integration of frequency inverters. The ETCxC and ETCHM products complete the portfolio of controls with their dynamic motion control system with CNC functionality (6D). Both products can be programmed in accordance with IEC 61131-3.
The Drive PLC is a freely programmable and powerful PLC dedicated to the control of inverter drives. Not only is this control unit capable of monitoring the movements of your machine, but it can also take charge of central control tasks. The Drive PLC is programmed using the PLC languages of the IEC 61131-3 international standard. As well as offering options for connection to the most popular types of fieldbus, the Drive PLC also features gateway functionality. Received process data are forwarded to the connected drive controller via the built-in system bus.The input and output terminals of the Drive PLC can be extended quickly and easily by means of extension boards or function modules.

| The DMC-1417 for the PCI bus is a member of the Econo Series, Galil's family of single-axis motion controllers which are half the size and half the price of multi-axis controllers. The DMC-1417 can handle the most demanding applications with such features as an extra encoder input for electronic gearing, program memory with multitasking, uncommitted I/O and user-selectable stepper or servo motor control. Modes of motion include point-to-point positioning, jogging, contouring, electronic gearing and ecam. Programming the DMC-1417 is simplified with two-letter, intuitive commands and a full set of software tools such as WSDK for servo tuning and analysis, ActiveX Tool Kit for Visual Basic users and a C-Programmers Tool Kit. The Econo Series controllers do not include uncommitted analog inputs and are not optoisolated. Use the DMC-1810 Optima controller if you require these features. |

Galil's CDS-3310 is a single-axis controller and drive system for precisely controlling a brush or brushless servo motor. It combines a high-performance, programmable motion controller with a 500W PWM drive in a compact, cost-effective package. The CDS-3310 provides a 10/100 Base-T Ethernet port and individual CDS-3310 units may be connected on a distributed network and programmed as a single controller. The communication burden is minimized because the host PC only has to talk with the master CDS-3310, which in turn communicates with the other CDS-3310 on the network.
The CDS-3310 incorporates a 32-bit microcomputer and provides such advanced features as PID compensation with velocity and acceleration feedforward, program memory with multitasking for simultaneously running up to eight programs, and uncommitted I/O for synchronizing motion with external events. Modes of motion include point-to-point positioning, jogging, contouring, electronic gearing and ECAM. As with all Galil controllers, programming the CDS-3310 is simplified with two-letter, intuitive commands and a full set of software tools such as WSDK for servo tuning and analysis, and the ActiveX Tool Kit for Visual Basic users. |

| Yaskawa single-axis controllers, or application modules, integrally mount to Yaskawa amplifiers to add positioning and communication features. This modular approach reduces integration costs by eliminating amplifier to controller wiring and improves performance by distributing position control to the point of the amplifier. The NS300, NS500, and NS600 provide simple positioning driven by digital I/O, serial, or fieldbus communication. The MP940 and LEGEND-MC offer the ultimate flexibility for complex move profiles tightly integrated to machine I/O. |

The DMC-40x0 motion controller is Galil's highest performance, stand-alone motion controller. It belongs to Galil's latest generation motion controller family: the Accelera Series, which accepts encoder inputs up to 22 MHz, provides servo update rates as high as 32 kHz, and processes commands as fast as 40 microseconds-10 times the speed of prior generation controllers.
The DMC-40x0 is a full-featured motion controller packaged with optional multi-axis drives in a compact, metal enclosure. The unit operates stand-alone or interfaces to a PC with Ethernet 10/100Base-T or RS232. The controller includes optically isolated I/O, high-power outputs capable of driving brakes or relays, and analog inputs for interfacing to analog sensors. The DMC-40x0 controller and drive unit accepts power from a single 20-80 VDC source. The DMC-40x0 is available in one through eight-axis formats, and each axis is user-configurable for stepper or servo motor operation.
Like all Galil controllers, programming the DMC-40x0 is simplified with two-letter, intuitive commands and a full set of software tools such as WSDK for servo tuning and analysis, and an ActiveX Tool Kit for Visual Basic users. |
