The Rolls-Royce Bergen lean-burn gas engine is an advanced, clean and efficient unit that meets the most stringent demands for environmentally conscious electrical power generation systems.
It has undergone progressive technical development since its arrival in the power generation marketplace in the early 1990s. Today, the advantages provided by its lean-burn combustion using pre-chamber ignition maintain the engine’s position as the class leader in a worldwide market that increasingly demands high efficiency processes using environmentally friendly fuels.
The latest version, the KV-G4, producing between 2400 and 3640kW in 12, 16 and 18 cylinder versions, has changed the modern gas engine business by achieving higher efficiency compared with earlier spark-ignited gas engines, while also bringing down Nox emissions to new reduced levels.
Technical development has created one of the most cost-efficient engines available, with an output of 200kW of electrical power per cylinder at an efficiency of more than 46 per cent. These developments exploit advances in control and monitoring technology, both electronically and in terms of hardware.
The KV-G4 is ideally suited to today’s CHP market and is backed by the world’s finest pedigree of power – the experience of Rolls-Royce.

Features
Increased power range
This was achieved by basing the new design on our largest engine platform, the B32:40, extending it to 350 mm, and by making the new engine in versions up to V-20.
Higher efficiency
This means lower gas consumption for the power produced and therefore lower operating costs. Key factors in achieving this are that the B-gas utilises an advanced thermodynamic cycle, has an optimised combustion system, advanced turbochargers with variable turbine geometry, as well as an efficient mechanical design that runs at relatively low speed.
Reduced emissions
Achieved through further developments of the well-known Bergen lean-burn combustion system based on spark ignition in a small pre-chamber, in combination with the advanced thermodynamic cycle mentioned above.

Cat Natural Gas Engines
Cat gas engines fit a wide range of industrial applications. Gas engines carry ratings from 55-4705 bhp (41-3509 bkW). Gas engines include the Cat Electronic Ignition System, which uses state-of-the-art microprocessor technology to control key parameters such as timing and detonation protection. The EIS also has built-in diagnostics covering nearly every facet of the ignition system.
All Cat gas engines are based on rugged diesel engine frames. That means high reliability, low maintenance and repair costs, and long service life. Components such as blocks, crankshafts, heads, liners and connecting rods are also the same as those used in Cat diesels.

AC induction hoist and traction motors offer higher efficiency and smaller size than DC sepex or series wound motors with the same output and thermal performance.
They are without commutator and brushes and require no maintenance. With this type of motor, acceleration and braking torque at higher speeds are not limited by the commutator, which results in shorter stopping distances without the use of a mechanical brake. They also offer longer battery life and more precise control.
Main features of Iskra AC Induction motors:
* High efficiency.
* High specific power.
* Small size.
* Low noise operation.
* Long life without maintenance.
* Precise control.
