Today's marine propulsion systems must provide faster vessel speed, enable greater payloads or deliver more power per square foot of machinery space. When vessel speed is critical and space is a premium, gas turbines can be an ideal solution.
For fast patrol boats, fast attack craft, corvettes and hovercraft as well as commercial applications such as fast ferries and mega-yachts, marine propulsion is made simple with Vericor's aero-derivative gas turbine-based power plants. Our marine propulsion offerings, ranging from 4,000 to 10,000 shp are based on the TF Series gas turbines.
Compact & Lightweight:
Our TF Series gas turbines are compact, lightweight and provide many times the horsepower over diesel engines for the same installed weight at a lower installed volume. With a cold-end drive, the gas turbine can be integrated into the package by cantilever mounting directly to the reduction gear, or mounting to a horizontal support frame and coupled to the reduction gear with a shaft and coupling.
The TF Series turbines can provide efficient power to a variety of propulsors including fixed and variable pitch propellers, waterjets and, in the case of hovercraft, air props. The small size and light weight features of the TF Series also allow for the installation of single or multiple gas turbines in combined system configurations.

Do not always choose the highest number of revolutions; a lower number of revolutions increases the maintenance intervals and the service life, and noise. In case of long-term operation of more than 1,500 service hours per year, the number of revolutions should not exceed 2,600 rpm.
The power demand of the driven machine often cannot be determined exactly, therefore, allowance must be made for safety reserve capacities, as well as for altitude and ambient temperature, if they differ from the standard*.

Fuel Pumps
Pumps which are used for the injection of fuels into diesel engines are the technically most demanding members in the family of pressure generators. The provision of fuels under high pressure to common-rail injectors and fuel injection valves calls for robust dimensioning of the pump drives, the determination of optimum clearance in the pump element and the application-oriented selection of high-strength steels with special heat treatment processes. In addition, our pumps are characterized by know-how developed over decades in terms of helices in the case of conventional pump-line-nozzle systems (PLN), component coatings, sealing elements or valve engineering. The results obtained combining hydraulic simulation, static finite elements modeling and nonlinear finite elements analysis already provides clear-cut data in the preliminary design phase as regards delivery rates and efficiency levels, component loads or lifetimes as well as the minimum surface pressures necessary for sealing.

The Scania 16-litre V8 diesel is the ideal industrial engine for the really tough demands – available both for all-speed industrial applications and power generation purposes. With impressive torque right from low revs, it has the power and performance needed for truly heavy working-conditions.
Quick response to load changes, good fuel consumption and low emission levels, a design that allows it to be tailor-made to suit specific requirements are important benefi ts that come with the package. When using it as an all-speed engine, one major advantage that adds to the
drivability, is the access to maximum torque from just a few hundred revs above idling speed and throughout the rev band.
And of course it is compact enough to fit most installations.
Impressive power. Massive torque.

he new GUASCOR SFGLD series stand out for their toughness and high performance under the hardest working conditions. GUASCOR has applied new very resistant materials in the construction of the SFGLD engines.
On GUASCOR SFGLD engines, load carburation, speed and load are electronically self controlled, so they can operate at constant and limited emissions in spite of variation. The engine adapts to different qualities of gas wich even allows to switch from natural gas to biogas with no stops. A computerised module provides readouts of the spark plugs condition or allows ignition advance to be adjusted through external signals. GUASCOR engines may be fitted with GUASCOR engines can be equipped with a detonation detection and control system. This enables the engine to work under the severest working conditions while avoiding the effects of persistent detonation.
