Scania’s 12-litre engine is ideal for applications that require solid power and high reliability. The engine responds alertly to the throttle, with
a huge surge of torque available from low revs. The power curve is broad and fl at, which has a very positive effect on engine and driving prop-
erties since maximum power is available within a wide rev range.
The 12-litre engine has a production run of more than 30,000 units every year, for installation in trucks, buses and in industrial and marine applications. It is thoroughly tried and tested, and highly appreciated among the people who own and operate it.
Low fuel consumption and low emissions.
There is nothing particularly difficult in designing a powerful engine; the challenge lies in combining high power with low fuel consumption and low emissions. We have solved this equation with a combination of optimised combustion chambers, unit injectors and a sophisticated Powerful, economical and clean engine management system. The result is optimum fuel economy, and exhaust emissions that of course meet Stage IIIA and Tier 3.

From January 1, 2006, the new air cooled diesel engine not only meets Japan's emissions regulations but also passes EPA's strict Tier 2 standards. Designed with the environment in mind, this engine is in tune with the needs of the times.
Superior vibration and noise reduction is achieved through the use of precision balancers. This leads to operating comfort even under long
work hours.
Keeping with the tradition of compact design, the new LV series are simple to install. It fits in cramped spaces without sacrificing power and performance. Yanmar's proprietary direct injection technology allows the engine to sip rather than gorge on fuel. This means lower running cost in the world of rising fuel prices.
Starting is a breeze with the standard recoil starter. Starter motor and switch are also available as an option.

Common Rail
Nowadays, new high-quality engines increasingly rely an common-rail fuel injection. L'Orange is distinguished particularly by its many years of experience in developing and manufacturing such injection systems. This key technology of the future will allow further significant improvements to be achieved with regard to the four main requirements of engine manufacturers. Fuel injection at any desired pressure can be timed to the microsecond, independently of the engine's operating cycle. For the engine manufacturer, the use of the powerful common-rail-platform pump has the economic and logistical advantages that the same pump can be used for virtually the entire engine range. Both heavy-fuel and distillate applications are based on this platform.

When our construction customers said that they wanted smaller, quieter, more powerful engines for micro and mini designs we brought them 400 Series. The range has been specifically tailored to micro / mini-excavators, skid steer applications, and the smaller sized dump trucks. For the top end of these smaller machines the 800 Series brings the same refinement, but adds more power.
The 1100 Series family of engines provides an engine platform that caters for different emissions legislation in world markets. The 1100A is suitable in non-regulated markets, the 1100D for Tier 3 / Stage IIIA legislation, and the 1100C range satisfying Tier 2 / Stage II. This approach makes life much simpler for manufacturers who wish to sell globally without spiralling re-engineering costs.
1100 Series contains models that can be tailored to Telehandlers, Large dumper trucks, Backhoe loaders and Wheeled or tracked excavators. Similar envelope size, mounting points, fuel, coolant, electrical and gaseous connection positions means a more efficient, lower cost design and installation process for equipment manufacturers. All the important end user benefits of improved NVH, cost of ownership, and productivity are maintained.
