The AvaSpec-3648 Fiber Optic Spectrometers is based on the AvaBench-75 symmetrical Czerny-Turner design with 3648 pixel CCD Detector Array. The spectrometer has a fiber optic entrance connector (standard SMA, others possible), collimating and focusing mirror and diffractional grating. A choice of 16 different gratings with different dispersion and blaze angles enable applications in the 200-1100nm range. The AvaSpec-3648 comes with a 16 bit AD converter, and USB2.0 high speed interface. The AvaSpec- 3648 is especially suitable for measuring high resolution applications and thanks to the 10µsec electronic shutter has a wide dynamic range. An optional detector coating can enhance the CCD performance for the UV range and a detector collection lens offers high sensitivity.
Digital IO ports enable external triggering and control of shutter and pulsed light sources from the Avantes line of instruments.
The AvaSpec-3648 has a USB2 interface with fast data sampling of 270 spectra per second and data transfer in 3.7 msec and supports analog in-and outputs as well. Optional BluetoothÒ (-BT) communication and an SD card for on-board saving of spectra can be added. The AvaSpec-3648-USB2 runs on USB power and comes with AvaSoft-basic, a complete manual and USB interface cable. Multiple (up to 127) USB2 spectrometers with different detector types can be externally coupled (see section multi-channel spectrometers).

HAMAMATSU mini-spectrometers are polychromators integrated with optical elements , an image sensor and a circuit. Light to be measured is guided into the entrance port through an optical fiber and the spectrum measured with the built-in image sensor is output from the USB port to a PC for data acquisition.

The AvaSpec-2048x14 Fiber Optic Spectrometers is a back-thinned type CCD spectrometer with high quantum efficiency and high UV sensitivity. The optical design is based on the AvaBench-75 symmetrical Czerny-Turner design with a 2048x14 pixels high UV sensitive CCD image sensor. The image sensor is used as a linear array of 2048 pixels binning the vertical 14 pixels to optimize efficiency. The spectrometer has a fiber optic entrance connector (standard SMA, others possible), collimating and focusing mirror and a diffractional grating. A choice of 16 different gratings with different dispersion and blaze angles enable applications in the 200-1160nm range. The QE65000 Scientific-grade Spectrometer is a novel combination of detector, optical bench and electronics technologies that provides users with a remarkably sensitive system for demanding low-light level applications such as fluorescence, DNA sequencing, astronomy and Raman spectroscopy. The QE65000 is the most sensitive spectrometer we have ever developed. The Hamamatsu FFT-CCD detector used in the QE65000 provides 90% quantum efficiency (defined as how efficiently a photon is converted to a photo-electron). Most of our other detectors are linear CCDs but with this “2D” area detector, we can bin (or sum) a vertical row of pixels, which offers significant improvement in the signal-to-noise ratio (>1000:1) and signal processing speed of the detector compared with a linear CCD, where signals are digitally added by an external circuit.

NIR Sensors use Near Infrared energy to make direct measurements of specific constituents or components of products during processing. They operate on the principal that certain wavelengths of NIR energy are selectively absorbed by these constituents.
NDC Infrared Engineering manufactures a whole range of NIR Sensors which use three principle configurations:
