Multi-stage ejector
PIAB vacuum pumps are of the multi-stage ejector type – a technology patented by PIAB in 1973.
These vacuum pumps were developed to provide extra vacuum flow in combination with deep maximum vacuum levels while keeping energy consumption at a minimum.
PIAB pumps have no moving parts that vibrate or wear out – important features that contribute heavily to outstanding operational reliability and a pleasant, noise-free working environment.

Multistage Steam Ejector Condenser Sets
Multistage ejectors are used in processes such as degassing, desalination, fractionating and distillation to evacuate a system and maintain the level of vacuum required. Applications are not limited to steam, we also offer water, gas and air operated ejectors for a wide variety of process applications.
Ejectors and condensers have no moving parts and so by nature are simple, reliable, inexpensive and have a long lifetime with low maintenance costs. They work as a vacuum pump or compressor by transferring some of the energy from motive steam to entrain air, gas or vapor to eject at a higher delivery pressure.
Multi-stage systems may incorporate a Edwards liquid ring pump as the final stage before discharge to atmosphere.

A Liqui-Mover performs the same liquid transport functions as vane or centrifugal pumps. But since the Liqui-Mover is based on an entirely different operating concept, it has fewer moving parts than conventional pumps.
As a positive displacement pressure-powered pump, the Liqui-Mover has no motors, starters, shafts rotating mechanical seals or impellers. Instead, the Liqui-Mover uses steam (or any compatible inert gas) under pressure as the motive force to lift or pump liquids.

Pressure Operated Condensate Pumps
The SFPOP pump is used to transfer liquids from reservoirs submitted to low pressure or vacuum and return lines, or also to transfer liquids from reservoirs in lower levels to higher levels.
The SFPOP10 pump may be operated with steam and compressed air, only working when there is liquid to be pumped.
SFPOP is recommended to drain evaporators, systems submitted to vacuum, condensers, turbines and any other installation to transfer fluids in environments with explosive atmosphere.
|
|
- Automatic pumps specifically designed to remove and recover condensate.
- Self-contained units using steam or other pressurised gas as their motive power.
- No electric motors or level switches, simplifying installation & making ideal for hazardous areas.
- One pump design covers all applications.
- Pumps high temperature fluids without cavitation, reducing plant maintenance problems.
- Suited to pump other industrial fluids.

Thanks to their weak weight (from 7 to 13 G according to versions') and their reduced dimensions, the ejectors “just plug it in” LASH are easy to integrate in a network of compressed air into nearest to the suction cups, even in the most inaccessible places of the machines. Utilisation COVAL advises the use of the ejectors in line LASH for the handling of electronic components and light parts, the feeding systems, the applications of “Pick and Place” and the systems of separation for the machining of sheet or the plastic. Advantages simple and effective Connection Rapid couplings, connections with nozzle, male threading M12 or male M14. Increased reliability No machine element moving. Silence of operation Combination tube-mixer exit of fluidic news COVAL.Performances optimized. The LASH are available in 3 diameters of tube (0,5 0,7 and 0,9 mm) and 2 levels of vacuum (60% and 90%).

Ejector inlet capacities range from 20 CFM to 20,000 CFM (35 CMH to 34,000 CMH) or more at vacuum, and pressures as low as 0.001 mm Hg absolute can easily be accommodated. Ejectors can be manufactured in a variety of materials and require no moving parts, translating into trouble-free continuous ejector operation.

The Vacuum Generator is designed to produce a low-flow vacuum using the venturi principle. The vacuum generator converts compressed air to a vacuum consuming 4.9 CFH with an 89.6 KP Supply.
When air is allowed to flow through the generator, the high velocity of the air passing through the center port draws a vacuum through the side ports. Two red vinyl caps are provided to cap the unused output port.

HV-SA series
Central ejector based on the Venturi principle. Includes two pressure supply ports and a vacuum connection.
When connection 1.1 is supplied with pressure, the Venturi nozzle generates vacuum.
An integrated check valve at connection 2 maintains vacuum in systems with slight leakage even when the ejector is switched off.
The integrated (automatic) air saving feature turns off the air supply to the ejector when the pre-set upper vacuum level is reached. If the vacuum level drops 150 mbar below this level, the air supply is turned on to the ejector until the pre-set vacuum level is reached again. This fulfills the "EMERGENCY ON FUNCTION".
To release the components that have been picked up, a momentary blow off ejects the components (a signal interrupter integrated into connection 1.2 stops the blow off function after 0.3 seconds).
An external 5/2way double solenoid valve is recommended to control the ejector by alternately activating connection 1.1 (start) and 1.2 (release).
Change "release" to blow off as seen on page 66.
The pressure supply port and vacuum connections are fitted with removable protective filters, which serve to protect the ejector from debris.
A silencer with self-cleaning granular filling (with an air consumption of 150 and 300 Nl/min) or a surface mounted silencer (with an air consumption of 500 Nl/min) is included in the scope of delivery.
