This system is formed by a central aisle along which a stacker professional crane travels. Two racks, built at either side, are used to store boxes or trays. The picking and handling area is formed by conveyors supplier and is positioned at one end or at the side of the racking. Here, the stacker crane deposits the load extracted from the rack. The conveyors then take the box to the operator and once the job has been completed, the box is returned to the stacker crane which then places it back in the racking. The whole system is controlled by a warehouse management programme which registers the location of all the materials in the warehouse and keeps an inventory in real time.
These warehouses can be double or single depth. Double-depth warehouses enable storage of two levels deep in each location, which is ideal for companies that seek a balance between storage capacity and rapid handling.

The need to maximise the surface area in warehouses has led to the development of stacker cranes, designed to work in very narrow aisles and at heights above 30 metres.
Their vertical and horizontal speed and their automated operation triple the capacity of pallet extraction and handling.
The stacker cranes are guided by a profile fitted on the racks above the professional crane and by a rail anchored to the floor.
The racks can be double- or single-depth. Double-depth racking enables two levels of storage depth in each storage space, thus maximising capacity.

Where massive storage of components, parts, tools, or spares is needed,
the SILO is the solution.
A compact, high density storage solution, the SILO is based upon two parallel racking structures that can be up to 10 metres high. The racks of the SILO are loaded with trays or drawers, adapted to fit the desired contents (with general purpose or bespoke dividers, slots, bins boxes...). The SILO offers a capacity that is quite substantial, to be measured often in hundreds of cubic metres. By making full use of available height, this solution makes much more efficient use of floor areas than traditional industrial shelving systems.
The SILO is a robotic filing solution : a carriage on board a professional crane runs down the central corridor and retrieves the requested drawer and brings it to a industrial workstation (there may be several). Picking thus is made much more efficient, and the number of operators required to do a given number of picks (or loads) a day is substantially lessened.
The SILO is a computerised solution: hence errors, missing items, and other incidents are sharply curtailed, and traceability of transactions can be made integral. This improves quality and productivity of warehousing or order preparation services.
