The ceramic bearing is usually a radial or angular contact ball bearing. Roller ceramic bearings are less common. The ceramic element offers longer life, higher speed and precision, and greater heat and corrosion resistance.

Applications

Such bearings are commonly used under extreme dynamic conditions, where contamination must be avoided and where lubrication is a problem, as in metrology, electronics, the computer industry, vacuum and clean-room settings.
