The C300 Series cut-off machines originate from the technological development of the C250 Series. In addition to the basic features which are common to both Series, the two C300 models can accomodate cutting wheels up to 300mm diameter, and have a more powerful and sophisticated motor, controlled by a frequency inverter. The main function of the frequency inverter is to electronically control the motor power variations during the sample cutting process, improving the performances. Moreover, the inverter acts as a motor brake in case of power failure (caused, for example, by the safety switch that immediately interrupts the power supply in case the cover is open while the machine is working), allowing the complete stop of the motor in a shorter time than a machine not equipped with the inverter.
The difference between the two models of the C300 Series is the variable speed device, which is available only on the C300VS cut-off machine.
