ONA DB series

The world's only conventional horizontal wire EDM machine, the ultra-high accuracy UPJ-2 automatically threads and machines with wire as small as 0.00078 inches (0.02 mm) in diameter. The UPJ-2 is ideal for micromachining applications, such as gears for micro-miniature molds, fiber optics, inkjet nozzles and medical instruments.
With its unique mechanical construction, the UPJ-2 can automatically thread a 0.00078-inch (0.02mm) wire through a 0.0027-inch (0.07 mm) diameter start hole with a 0.0059-inch (0.15 mm) pitch offering high reliability and performance. The machine's dielectric fluid operation helps to minimize spark gap and enhance quality finish, while the unique core and slug removal unit improve particulate flushing and enhance uptime. The entire machine is enclosed within a Makino Thermal GuardTM unique temperature system, providing temperature control to within 1º F (0.5º C).
