Expansion joints are major components in numerous industrial plants. They are used as flexible transition elements in tubular and duct systems (e.g. flue gas ducts of power plants) to compensate thermal expansion, vibrations, movements or inaccurate mounting. Expansion joints are custom-made to suit any particular application and are available as single- or multi-layer expansion joints. The latter are designed for the high-temperature sector and can be used up to 1400 °C. Single-layer expansion joints of fluoropolymer or elastomer, e.g. Viton®*), are specifically suitable for aggressive operating conditions, such as those in flue gas desulphurization plants..

In an isolated duct or in a duct system, both the circulating fluid temperature and pressure changes and the atmospheric changes may produce stresses that could quickly destroy the system if there were no elements that provided flexibility to the whole unit.
The solution to these problems is provided by the installation of Expansion Joints. SAFETECH has the means and knowledge to calculate those stresses and offer the most adequate solution and product for every case. The development of new solutions and products is the response given by SAFETECH to the increasing demand of energetic and environment efficiency.
This technical capability is the base of SAFETECH, an experienced team of technicians and engineers with many years of experience, allow us to cover all necessities that our clients might have in the Expansion Joints field. SAFETECH may offer any standard or special solution. Our program covers all three types of Expansion Joints: Fabric, Metal and Rubber, al! used as flexible elements to absorb vibrations, misalignments, thermal expansions, or any other movement caused by internal or external vibrations.
Safetech designs expansion joints by means of searching for the best technical and economical solution for different industrial sectors.

STENFLEX fabric expansion joints are preferred in plant and equipment engineering involving gaseous media at high temperatures, e.g. hot air or flue gas. They are resistant to acid or alkaline gases and remain stable under high or low pressure.
STENFLEX fabric expansion joints are quality products used in components, plants, machinery and piping systems.
Their functions include:
- vibration and noise damping
- motion and expansion compensation
- compensation for imprecise assembly
|
|
High levels of flexibility require ongoing adjustments.
Fine-tuning to meet requirements from industry and the newest technology.
STENFLEX PTFE expansion joints are particularly suitable for aggressive media. PTFE is virtually non-combustible and resistant to almost all chemicals and solvents.
STENFLEX PTFE expansion joints are commonly used in machine units, machines, industrial equipment and piping systems.
|
|
As with all STENFLEX products, our rubber expansion joints are subject to continuous process improvement. This policy guarantees our customers state-of-the-art products. We optimize component formulas and develop new products in our own laboratories.
STENFLEX rubber expansion joints are used in plant units, machinery, apparatus, pumps and as part of pipeline systems. They are safe, efficient and require very little space. |
|
STENFLEX steel expansion joints have had a proven track record in flexible pipe connection applications for decades. Even under extreme operating conditions. Our wide product range is able to meet varying industry application requirements, media and nominal widths as encountered in the engineering industry, motor, component and ship construction and building technology.
You will benefit from a product with:
- motion compensation
- expansion compensation
