Kavlico's Model P255 pressure transducer with advanced electronics provides enhanced performance.
Specifically designed for pressure measurements of 0 - 15 through 0 - 1,000 PSI, this robust device has a ceramic diaphragm that can withstand exposure to a wide array of compatible liquid and gaseous process media. The mixed-signal CMOS ASIC provides for improved EMI/RFI and accuracy specifications.
Excited by 5 Vdc, the P255 provides a linear amplified output of 0.5 to 4.5 Vdc that is proportional to pressure. The sensor has low power consumption, superior long-term stability, and excellent repeatability and hysteresis. Other features include over-voltage, reverse polarity, and short circuit protection.
The P255 exhibits excellent shock and vibration tolerance, making it an ideal fit for marine, agriculture chemical equipment, HVAC/R, hydraulic systems, gas tank pressure monitoring, level measurements, coolant pressures, aggressive fluid measurements, and a myriad of other industrial applications.
The P255 pressure transducer is available in many standard off-the-shelf configurations. It can also be custom designed to fit specific OEM applications.
In addition to the P255 Pressure Transducer, Kavlico designs and manufactures custom sensors for a wide variety of OEM, application specific requirements utilizing our ceramic capacitive, silicon micro-machined integrated capacitance and piezoresistive technologies.

The Series 8 pressure sensors are extremely durable, even when exposed to fast pressure peaks. They have been developed especially for the measurement of high pressures. The Series 8 sensor for ranges 400…1000 bar uses a thicker glass feed through and a wire-bonded measuring cell.
A high-sensitivity piezoresistive silicon chip is used for pressure sensing. The chip is protected against ambient influences by a stainless steel housing sealed with a concentrically corrugated diaphragm. The housing is filled with silicone oil for the transfer of the pressure from the diaphragm to the sensing component.
All metal parts in contact with the pressure media are made of stainless steel AISI 316 L. The fully welded housing is vacuum-tight. The connecting pins allow direct PCB mounting or can be used for connecting cables.
Typical applications: Industrial processes, aviation electronics, servo controls, oil industry, robotics

OEM products are engineered to meet low cost, high volume requirements and to fit common or uniquely specific customer application demands. OEM mass flow meters are used in air, compressed air, nitrogen, methane, natural gas, carbon dioxide, argon and other gases in applications that require wide turndown ratios (100:1), low flow sensitivity, no moving parts and negligible pressure drop. These products feature true mass flow analog outputs (without additional pressure or temperature transducers) as well as temperature, totalizing and alarm outputs. OEM Flow switches are used in liquids, gases and slurries. They are ideally suited for low flow pump protection, monitoring lube oil, detecting seal leakage, verifying analyzer flow, monitoring cooling water and other critical applications. These products feature 300 series stainless steel rugged industrial design with no moving parts and negligible pressure drop. Optional materials of construction include CPVC with Hastelloy C-22 tips for corrosive applications.

The technology for our 'TorqSense' RWT310/320 Series Torque Transducers is based on the patented technology of measuring the resonant frequency change of 'Surface Acoustic Wave' (SAW) devices in a non-contact manner when strain is applied to a shaft to which the SAWs are fixed. The applied torque causes a deformation of the quartz substrate of the SAW device, which in turn causes a change in its resonant frequency. Essentially the SAWs act as 'frequency dependent' strain gauges.
The frequency signal measuring the resonant frequency is coupled via a non-contact RF rotating couple from the shaft to a fixed pick-up and it is the analysis of the difference in resonant frequencies between the two SAW devices, with electronic processing and calibration, that gives a precise indication of the torque transmitted by the shaft. SAW devices have a high immunity to magnetic fields allowing their use in motors, for example, where other analog technologies are susceptible to electronic interference and are not suitable.
The use of this patented measurement technique results in a transducer being able to sense torque bi-directional, with fast mechanical and electrical responses. As the method is non-contact it has also complete freedom from brushes or complex electronics, which are often found in traditional torque measurement systems.

Features
These sensors are mainly used for internal energy measurements in lasers with high repetition rates.
They are characterised by a high sensitivity and they can be used in a wide wavelength area.
Sensor diameters between 4mm and 34 mm are available.
The maximum repetition rate depends on the diameter of the sensor and the load resistor. Repetition rates of up to 3 kHz are possible.
