General Information
HTMS Metal- O-Ring professional seals are made from high precision metal tube. Contrary to flat gaskets, HTMS Metal-O- Rings require extreme low bolting load. Because they feature a certain resiliency or spring back, HTMS Metal O Rings will compensate minor flange rotation and maintain positive sealing load to the sealing surface.
For sealing thin gas or low viscosity fluids, HTMS recommend to soft plate the bare metal seal with such materials as silver, gold or tin. Also PTFE as a coating is available.
HTMS Metal O Rings are made for internal or external pressure. For high pressure application HTMS advises vented or system pressure assisted Metal O Rings.
For extreme low leakage requirements at elevated temperatures HTMS also produces spring energized metal O Rings. This “OS” design is basically a metal O Ring with an inserted high tensile spring.

Extruded and jointed "O" rings are our preferred method of production, but moulded versions are available if specifically requested.
Both silicone & fluorosilicone with all varieties of fillers are available for the manufacture of "O" rings.
The advantages of vulcanised "O" rings are:
- Cost Effective
- No tooling costs
- Reduced lead times
- Better surface finish (zero flash)
- Allows hollow sections to be used for lower compression force
-Custom lengths easily produced (up to approx 2m developed length) |

Customized production of o-rings
You can't find what you're looking for in our vast range? No problem - COG customised production will be pleased to help with your special requirements. Even the most "unconventional" professional seals can be individually manufactured at our own production facilities (in-house compounding, in-house development, in-house toolmaking). In the materials and qualities of your choice - within a matter of days. Singly and in large or small batches. It's an offer that few other manufacturers can match. And another thing that you'll be pleased to hear: customised production at COG costs less than you think. Let's talk about your aims!

| Broad chemical resistance, except against liquid alkaline metals and fluorine gas under pressure. Good sliding qualities, low wear and tear. Temperature range from -200 °C to +260°C. PTFE has hardness of approximately 95 °Shore and installing these O-rings in split grooves is recommended or alternatively the use slit or sheathed types due to the low elasticity. |
