Teknic SSt-series Servo Drives, a high-speed DSP control processor controls all of the feedback loops: position, velocity and actual torque. Torque is actively measured and controlled, with losses in the motor effectively minimized. The operation is truly all-digital: the motor currents are converted directly into digital format for the DSP and the outputs to the motor are digital PWM pulse streams-no drift- or noise-prone analog processing is used whatsoever.
The dedicated DSP processor within the SSt servo drive knows, at all times: the state of the position/velocity compensator, the state of the motor's magnetic field, the output voltages of the amplifier, the limit switch inputs, the RMS current in the motor, and numerous other variables. The SSt's proprietary control algorithms are specifically designed to make good use of all this information. The result is superior performance not only in the standard benchmarks (bandwidth, settling time, tracking accuracy), but also in the subjective benchmarks such as quiet jitter-free operation, virtual elimination of overshoot, reduction of torque "chatter", and more. In addition, the DSP's knowledge of the entire state of the servo system enables several unique features. Thousands of hours of computer simulation and experimentation have yielded, among other features: Adaptive Inertia Matching Technology (IMT), Hard-stop homing, fuzzy MoveDone signal false trigger suppression, and continuous current sensor calibration. For more information on these unique features, see the Systems Information section.

The ISC-1000 is a full-featured motion trajectory generator integrated with a high-performance, sinewave vector servo drive, designed exclusively for OEM use. The integration of a trajectory generator and a servo drive gives you the benefits of lower cost, smaller size, less cabling, fewer components, and higher reliability. This integration also provides a surprising performance enhancement.
For years, Teknic has proven the performance benefits of integrating position/velocity servo compensation with torque (current) control. With the ISC-1000, not only are the position, velocity and torque loops fully integrated and synchronized under the control of a dedicated DSP, but now the motion trajectories are also fully integrated. This integration had to be very carefully architected to deliver its full promise, and in the ISC-1000 the performance benefits are immediately evident. Ultra-smooth and quiet motion, extraordinary tracking accuracy and zero settling time, coupled with the advantages of lower cost, smaller size and higher reliability make the ISC-1000 an unbeatable choice for OEM motion control applications.
The ISC-1000 is fully compatible with ControlPoint - Teknic's distributed, open-architecture machine control system. ControlPoint offers the OEM machine designer a wide array of control components to allow interconnectivity (with standard Category 5 cabling) to just about any digital or analog sensor, stepper motor, digital servo drive, brushless servo motor, etc. from any manufacturer.

The new drive concept from Baumüller: b maXX 4000
modular - scalable - open
b maXX has up to 11 drawers for plug-in modules and can therefore be individually adapted for special automation tasks. Special plug-in modules interface
b maXX, including interface adaptors for most standard bus systems. The plug-in b maXX-drivePLC module provides integrated intelligent control.
b maXX serves as a basis for both simple and complex automation solutions.
The requirements placed on machines and systems center on the ability to cope with future needs, flexible expansion capacity and simple adaptation with modified production processes.
Modular
b maXX can be adapted in line with the specific requirements of a given
application. The modular design guarantees that the drive system can be
expanded adequately. Plug-in modules equip the controller, for example, with control functions or additional field bus interfaces. This ensures that the user can benefit from cost-effective configuration since only the capabilities and computing power required for a specific job need to be purchased.
Scalable
The drive capabilities are expandable to meet the demands and requirements that are placed on a machine or system. The performance capability of b maXX extends from the simple to the highly sophisticated automation application. Functionality and computing power are selected relative to the application on the basis of a consistent hardware and software platform.
Open
b maXX offers access to automation bus systems. The field busses EtherCAT, CANopen, CANsync, PROFIBUS-DP and Sercos are fully supported. An OPC server is provided for the interfacing of visualization systems. Remote access to process variables within the drive PLC is also possible without additional programming.

Brushed / Brushless D.C. Servo Controller
The RTC3000 and RTC4000 are miniature servo controllers with built-in amplifier for use in OEM equipment to control very small brushed or brushless DC servo motors.
The RTC3000 measures 3.68 x 1.815 x 0.35 inches and makes all connections on the long edge side. The RTC3000 operates from a 12 to 24 VDC source and switches 1 Amp of continuous and 3 Amp of peak current. The RTC4000 measures 1.18 x 2.15 x 0.50 inches. The RTC 4000 operates from a 12 to 24 VDC source and switches 3 Amp of continuous and 6 Amp of peak current.
The small motor controller outputs are protected from short circuit to each other, to supply and to ground. The 32K of internal program memory can be used by jumpering two signals together at the memory port. Alternatively, the port signals can be routed to an external memory module. Either way, the unit can be programmed in BASIC to operate stand-alone. Stand-alone programs can interact with all inputs and outputs of the RTC3000, affording total flexibility and a multitude of additional interface options. The controller communicates over RS232 and RS485. All signal ports have supply and ground to power external devices such as limit switches, encoders, hall sensors, etc.
Like the SmartMotor, both the RTC3000 and RTC4000 have an additional network port called AniLink that interfaces with a vast array of peripherals.

The trasducers supported are
Sin-Cos 1Vpp
EnDat (Absolute)

ServoWire SM Drives
ServoWire SM drives provide high performance servo operation utilizing digital networking technology based on IEEE-1394 (FireWire). This network not only provides high speed, but also ease of use through cost-effective, industry-standard cabling. Each ServoWire drive supports a variety of high performance, encoder-based servomotors. Consult ORMEC for OEM applications of user-supplied brushless rotary or linear motors—as well as DC brush- type and voice-coil motors. All ServoWire drives utilize reliable IGBT-based intelligent power modules and provide a cost effective solution for today’s motion control applications.
ServoWire drives operate on DC, 115, 230 or 460 VAC input power, and provide both output short circuit and overvoltage protection. All-digital design eliminates the troublesome analog interface between PC and drive systems, replacing it with a modern high-speed network based on the IEEE-1394 standard.
Performance
ServoWire SM drives combine all-digital operation with DSP technology to produce fast update rates, and correspondingly high performance. The high bandwidth control loops in the ServoWire SM Drives, along with high resolution motor feedback, combine for quick and accurate torque, velocity and position control. Position, velocity and torque loops are all closed in the ServoWire SM drives. This distributed control architecture allows for high performance without placing a heavy computing burden on the SMLC or host PC.
