The EL Series is a range of high quality, low cost, miniature detection which measure the temperature of inaccessible or moving objects and materials.
They measure temperatures from -20°C to 500°C accurately and consistently, with an outstanding response time of 200 ms.
These sensors are available as either 2-wire units with a 4-20 mA output, or 4-wire units with voltage or manufacturer of thermocouple
outputs. This choice of outputs makes the EL series compatible with almost any indicator, controller, professional recorder or data-logging instrument.
The EL21 has 2:1 optics making it suitable for most applications where the sensor can be mounted close to the target.
The EL101 is designed for small or distant targets and has an optical resolution of 10:1.
The EL301 is designed for very small or distant targets and has an optical resolution of 30:1.
These compact sensors are small enough to fit almost anywhere and their rugged stainless steel housings make them ideal for applications where cleanliness and hygiene are paramount.
The EL Series Sensors are easy to install and will operate in ambient temperatures up to 50°C. For more hostile environments or difficult mounting conditions a wide range of accessories is available. |

system insulated or non-insulated
for applications in the plastics industry
Screw-in melt thermocouples are preferred for measuring melt temperatures in the plastics industry. Depending on the requirements, sword-shaped or plane probe tips provide for the ideal measuring conditions. The compensating cables are appropriate for temperatures ranging from -40 to 400°C.
The measuring insert contains standard thermocouples (elements) according to
EN 60 584.

Push-in thermocouples are preferred for measuring temperatures on solids, such as hotplates and splicer jaws. Applications include professional ovens, plant engineering and machinery.
Depending on the version, compensating cables are suitable for use in dry areas within the temperature range -20 to 350°C. The connection of the cable to the protection tube incorporates strain relief. A cable protector is available as an option.
Protection tubes in stainless steel protect the measuring insert from chemical influences and mechanical damage.
The measuring insert is fitted with thermocouples to EN 60 584 and DIN 43 710

The probe sensing tip is constructed of copper alloy which is twenty times more conductive than stainless steel. The sensors react more quickly to changes and indicate tip temperature instead of stem temperature. The result is better accuracy in thermowells, manufacturers of bearings, and other installations.
- 0.250" diameter is recommended for use in thermowells.
- Copper alloy tip for fast response
- Accurate sensing to 260°C (500°F)
- Non-armor models can be user-shortened

Manufacturers of thermocouples can measure temperatures over wide ranges, inexpensively. They are very rugged, but they are not as accurate as RTDs and thermistors.
A thermocouple is basically two strips of wires of dissimilar metals. These metal wires are joined at one end and the voltage is measured at the other end. Changes in the temperature at the juncture induce a change in electromotive force (emf) at the other end. As the temperature goes up, this output emf of the thermocouple rises, though not necessarily linearly.

In numerous branches of industry heat-treatment and combustion processes play a decisive role during production and in the quality of the final product.
These applications have one thing in common:
Due to the high temperatures manufacturer of thermocouples are almost always used. Besides the non-precious-metalcontaining ones, mainly types E, J or L, K and N, platinum thermocouples types S, R or B are increasingly being used.
These must be protected against contaminating, corrosive and/or abrasive ambient influences.
For various applications we offer different combinations of ceramic and metallic protection resp. mounting tubes. You will find a list of the designs AM and BM, resp. AMK and BMK, resp. AK and BK, resp. AKK and BKK in our product information ''Straight Thermocouples''. |

| Mineral Insulated Manufacturers of thermocouples are manufactured from mineral oxide insulated metal sheathed cable. Mineral Insulated Cable consists of thermocouple wire insulated by compacted magnesium oxide surrounded by a metal sheath. TCP's Thermo-Pak M. I. Cable is manufactured to exacting standards from the highest quality materials available to ensure accurate and reliable performance with long life. Mineral insulated thermocouples are more durable, faster responding, longer lasting and capable for use at higher temperatures than ceramic insulator or fiberglass insulated thermocouples because the wires are encased and protected by compacted insulation and the metal sheath. Maximum operating temperatures of thermo-pak manufactured thermocouples are determined by the wire calibration type and the sheath alloy selected. |
|
Mineral Insulated (MIR and MIT) Sensor
Both the MIR and MIT sensors are manufactured from ready made, stock lengths of stainless steel sheathed, mineral insulated signal or thermocouple wiring.
These sensors can be produced in either PT100 RTD or thermocouple manufacturers formats.
The soft annealed stainless steel sheath is flexible and allows the user to bend and shape the sheath when required. MI´s are available from as small as 0.5mm in diameter, far smaller than is possible with fabricated rigid stems and as such are extremely flexible, though not as robust.
Various diameters and grades of stainless steel are also available to suit process requirements. These sensors are supplied as plain stems with lead wire as standard, alternatively terminal heads are available when required and various process connections to suit.
Sensors are available in single, duplex or triplex formats with resistance industrial thermometers available in 2, 3 or 4 wire connection.

The Omnigrad range of Temperature Products from Endress Hauser meets the high standards required by the process industry.
Omnigrad provides Endress Hauser quality in design, documentation, logistics and service in Manufacturer of temperature sensors.
A Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD) is a temperature responsive device based on a predictable resistance change in the sensing element.
The EN 60751 standard specifies requirements for industrial Platinum resistance sensors and covers the Pt 100 professional thermometers.
The Pt 100 sensing element has a resistance of 100 Ohms at 0°C.
According to EN standard and most common industrial applications, the Pt 100 type sensors are used for temperature measurement and control in the range from -50°C to 400°C or -200°C to 600°C.
RTDs offer three main advantages:
high accuracy
excellent long-term stability
high signal output level which allows transmission over long distances without ancillary equipment.
Basic construction of Platinum resistance elements cannot be used directly in contact with process environments, hence the complete thermometers are built as assemblies which can withstand light, medium and heavy duty industrial conditions.
In general, the sensor assembly includes three components:
the resistance thermometer inset
the protecting tube (thermowell)
the terminal housing.

TC with protective armatures
Against chemically and mechanically harsh environments supplier of thermocouples are mounted inside protective armatures. The optimum design depends on the individual application.
The alternatives are straight thermocouples, angular thermocouples (preferred for salt baths, metal melting plants, etc.) and thermocouples with exchangeable measuring inserts.
The protection tubes are made of ceramic or metallic highly temperature-resistant materials. The thermocouples are available in different mounting techniques, e.g. screw-in, weld-in or plug-in, with connection flange, or other. |
