Product description
The PICOGLOSS 560 MC-X is a compact portable gloss meter designed to provide objective, repeatable gloss measurements for surface-treated materials such as paper, plastics, metals and wood. It supports common industrial quality-control workflows where consistent surface appearance must be ensured and deviations can indicate manufacturing or material issues.

Design and Function
Engineered for mobile use, the instrument measures at the standardized 60° geometry commonly required across sectors. It supports mirror-gloss measurements on metallic surfaces and automatically changes range at 150 GU to cover low to very high gloss levels.

Handling
Single-key operation allows fast measurements with minimal training. The last reading is held on the display for approx. 10 s; auto power-off preserves battery life while retaining the last measured value when switched on again.

Display
High-contrast graphic LCD shows measurement and calibration values plus messages. The display can be rotated 180° to suit left-handed operation.

Calibration
Two-point calibration uses a single supplied standard. Calibration runs automatically at the touch of a key and the calibration value is stored on the standard (EPROM).

60° Gloss measurement
Standard measurement geometry for many coatings and plastics; suitable for cross-industry quality control.

Mirror gloss measurement
Mirror-gloss readings on metallic surfaces up to 1000 GU with automatic measuring-range change-over at 150 GU.

Automatic switchover of the display resolution
Resolution adapts automatically: 0.0 GU–150.0 GU → 150 GU–1000 GU.

USB interface
Measurement data can be transferred to a PC via the supplied USB cable and analysed with PICOSOFT III. Only the supplied USB cable is suitable for data transfer.
