Thus, they can use any type of motor or gearing, though straight reduction gear systems, for example those using pulleys and belts, are inherently parallel. Bevel gears are right-angle and planetary gears are coaxial arrangements, requiring an angle gear to change the transmission orientation.
TechnologiesGear motor technology is highly varied. While parallel shaft models can use any type of motor or gearing, reduction gears that are not inherently parallel will affect overall configuration. For example, bevel and worm gears have perpendicular input and output shafts, while planetary gears are coaxial. These types require additional angle gearing to incorporate parallel shafts.
