OverviewNon-intrusive level measurement systems using magnetic float technology and armored reflex or transparent glass gauges for clear, safe liquid level indication in tanks, pressure vessels, boilers and process equipment across demanding industrial applications.
Key Advantages- Enhanced operator safety: sealed bypass chambers and armored construction separate operators from process fluids at extreme pressures and temperatures.
- Zero power requirements: magnetic and reflex glass technologies provide continuous mechanical indication without electrical power.
- Accuracy independent of fluid optics: readings unaffected by fluid color, turbidity or ambient lighting.
- Reduced maintenance: armored designs and bypass chambers avoid direct glass-to-process contact, limiting fragility and downtime.
Magnetic Level IndicatorsBypass chamber systems with magnetic float assemblies that transmit level position through non-magnetic chamber walls to external flag or follower indicators.
- Magnetic flag or follower indication
- Internal standpipe or external bypass chamber
- Materials: stainless steel, PVC, CPVC, polymer-lined options
- Mounting: flanged or threaded
- Pressure ratings: 10–62 bar (150–900 psi)
- Connection sizes: DN15 to DN80 (1/2" to 3")
- Metric and imperial graduations
- Optional 4–20 mA transmitters
Reflex Glass Level GaugesArmored flat-glass assemblies using prismatic reflex glass that shows liquid as dark and vapor as silver-white via light refraction.
- Prismatic borosilicate reflex glass
- High-contrast liquid/vapor interface, visible at distance
- No backlighting required
- Pressure ratings up to 275 bar (4000 psi)
- Temperature range: -20°C to +400°C
- 316 stainless or carbon steel body
- Suitable for clean, non-fouling liquids
Transparent Glass Level GaugesDual-glass armored assemblies with transparent flat glass on both sides of the chamber for true color and clarity observation.
- Dual transparent glass construction
- True liquid color visualization and interface detection
- Optional mica or PTFE protection shields
- Pressure ratings up to 414 bar (6000 psi)
- Temperature rating up to 427°C (800°F)
- Optional backlighting for enhanced visibility
- Suitable for corrosive media and multi-section assemblies
High-Pressure Steam GaugesASME-compliant reflex borosilicate glass gauges engineered for steam service where water appears dark and steam white.
- ASME Section 1 PG.60 compliance
- Reflex prism glass technology
- Pressure ratings up to 207 bar (3000 psi)
- High-temperature coatings and hardware
- One-piece continuous chamber design
- Optional illuminators (amber / red-green)
How It Works (Operating Principle)- Bypass chamber configuration: a vertical bypass chamber of non-magnetic stainless steel or polymer is connected to the vessel so the fluid level equilibrates with the main vessel.
- Magnetically-coupled float: an internal float with permanent magnets rides the liquid surface; float specific gravity is selected to match fluid density for accurate buoyancy.
- External indication coupling: magnetic fields penetrate the non-magnetic chamber wall to actuate external flag indicators or followers displaying the level.
- Fail-safe operation: mechanical coupling requires no electrical power, resists vibration and remains functional during power loss.
