Description

Overview
The Sorensen XG Series is an 850 W-class, 1U half-rack programmable DC power supply designed for test, production, laboratory, OEM and quality assurance applications. The series provides stable, adjustable output voltage and current with features to support accuracy, reliability and efficiency.

Model Summary
Model: XG 850
Voltage: 6 V - 600 V
Current: 1 A - 110 A
Power: 670 W - 850 W (model-dependent)
Form factors: 1/2 rack and full-rack options across the series

Features and Benefits
  • Highest Power Density – High-frequency soft-switching topology delivers up to 850 W in a 1U half-rack footprint, maximizing power per rack unit across 12 variants.
  • Comprehensive Interfaces – Standard USB 2.0, RS-232, RS-485 and isolated/non-isolated analog control; Ethernet (LXI Class C, MEB option) and GPIB available as options.
  • Scalable Multi-Unit Design – Units can be connected in series or parallel to increase voltage or current for rack-mounted systems and evolving test requirements.
  • Multi-Channel Support – Up to 30 XG units controllable via RS-485 for centralized programming and monitoring over LAN, USB, GPIB, RS-232 or RS-485.
  • Front-Panel Controls – Push-button encoder and function selector dial enable quick setting of voltage and current; front-panel lockout supports secure remote operation.
  • High Reliability – Soft-switching reduces high-voltage transients and improves MTBF; units undergo Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT) during design validation.
  • Five-Year Warranty – Standard five-year warranty coverage.
