Description

Overview
The SOLIBA EX P is an ATEX-certified tilt level switch (II 1 D Ex ia IIC T6) designed for high-level detection of solid bulk materials in silos, hoppers and storage containers located in hazardous dust zones 20, 21, 22.

Principle of operation
Suspended vertically at the required high-level point, the unit tilts when the bulk material reaches it. The change of tilt actuates an internal contact to send a stop or control signal to the plant automation (e.g. stop filling, alarm). The device triggers only when the high level is reached, avoiding continuous operation of the sensor.

Applications and compatibility
Suitable for use as a primary or redundant high-level alarm in grain and bulk handling installations. Can be combined with other level technologies (rotating paddles, vibrating forks, capacitive probes, ultrasonic or radar sensors) to increase safety and reliability.

Installation and positioning
Install suspended, vertically, opposite the grain inlet and at a distance from silo walls to ensure free tilting. Adjust ballast and suspension point to set the switching angle and delay of detection according to product behavior.

Fixing
Fixation can be via the cable sheath, a support bracket or the FIX-CAB accessory (recommended to set and maintain the height). Do not damage the cable with tight clamps to avoid capillarity ingress.

Electrical connection
Provide a watertight, appropriate connection box outside the vessel. The cable may be extended with standard signal cable; manufacturer-supplied cable lengths avoid in-line splices that could affect performance.

Construction and durability
Cylindrical shape prevents burying in the product. Body in copolymer polypropylene with HR HY (Hypalon) sheath for abrasion and impact resistance. Simple mechanical design for reliable operation in abrasive bulk materials.

Recommended accessories
  • FIX-CAB (cable clamp / mounting)
  • AT-DR07 (level control relay with alarm)
