Overview

Operating principle
The SOLIBA is a mechanical tilt level switch designed to detect high level in silos, hoppers and bulk storage containers for grains, powders and granules. Suspended vertically at the target high level, the unit tilts when the product reaches it, changing the internal contact state to stop filling or trigger an alarm. The device only operates when the high level is reached, making it a simple complementary solution to continuous sensors such as rotary paddles, vibrating forks, capacitance probes, radar or ultrasonic sensors.

Construction and materials
The float body is made of copolymer polypropylene with an optional biconical shape to limit burial in abrasive products and ensure stable, repeatable detection. Materials are chosen for abrasion and impact resistance appropriate for agricultural environments.

Positioning and adjustment
The switching angle depends on mounting position, ballast placement and fixation point. The ballast is adjustable on the cable: moving the ballast changes the switching angle (greater ballast distance yields a larger switching angle and later detection). Install the SOLIBA opposite the product inlet and at a short distance from the silo wall to ensure free tilting.

Mounting and electrical connection
Suspend the unit by the cable sheath and use the recommended FIXCAB fixing accessory for stable positioning. Electrical connections must be sealed and routed to an external junction box (the junction box must not be placed inside the silo). Cable extensions may be made with standard signal cable; units are supplied with the requested cable length to avoid in-tank splices.
