Description

Overview
The AQUA XL is a self-ballasted level regulator (float switch) designed for wastewater pumping stations. Fitted with an internal ballast (775 g), it penetrates surface grease layers to ensure reliable level detection for pump control or alarm functions.

Operating principle
When the liquid reaches the float, the internal mechanical switch tilts and changes state to open or close an electrical circuit connected to a control panel. Supplied with a three-core cable (COM, NO, NC) enabling two wiring modes.

Operating modes
Drain mode
In drain mode the regulator triggers the pump at high level (overflow protection) and stops it when the tank is emptied.

Fill mode
In fill mode the internal circuit remains closed (NC) at low position and starts the pump to fill the tank.

Installation and positioning
Triggering can vary with liquid agitation and filling/draining flow but is independent of the cable attachment point due to the integrated ballast. The tilt angle is fixed and not adjustable. Suspend the float from the cable sheath; use the FIXCAB fixing accessory where appropriate. Avoid clamps or fittings that may damage the cable.

Electrical connection
Make all electrical connections in a watertight, insulated junction box located outside the tank. The cable may be extended with standard signal cable; the float is supplied with the selected cable length to avoid in-tank splices.

Usage notes
Not suitable for highly agitated liquids. For such applications consider dedicated float switch models (BIP STOP, AT 120, ATS 165). Two floats can be used together to control minimum and maximum levels.
