BCM4778 is Broadcom's third generation dual-frequency L1L5 GNSS receiver, featuring advanced multipath mitigation, L5 acquisition capability, in-band and out-of-band filtering, integrated PMU with direct connection to battery and jamming protection.
The BCM4778 achieves the very challenging feature of reducing the power consumption by 5x compared to the previous generation while simultaneously enhancing urban accuracy due to the Broadcom proprietary Grid Tracking technology.
Additionally, by featuring an integrated switching regulator and integrated high performance LNAs, the device manufacturer can achieve significant BOM cost and PCB footprint reductions.
