OverviewThe SX122 AVC / OSC is a prefabrication orbital TIG welding machine engineered for high-precision, repeatable welds on tube assemblies. Integrated Arc Voltage Control (AVC) and Oscillation (OSC) stabilise arc length and enable controlled multi-pass welds on steels and exotic alloys. The system is intended for workshop prefabrication and is compatible with SAXX-210 AVC/OSC and SAXX-300 AVC/OSC power sources to reduce on-site work and installation errors.

Product advantages- Orbital TIG with AVC / OSC for precise arc control and consistent weld quality
- Arc Voltage Control (AVC) maintains constant electrode-to-tube distance automatically
- Oscillation (OSC) enables controlled multi-pass welding and uniform bead profiles
- Suitable for thick-wall tubes up to 12.7 mm (0.5″) for demanding industrial applications
- Motorized axial sweep ±10 mm (0.39″) for accurate electrode positioning
- Concentric clamping system minimises tube distortion and ensures alignment
- Automatic orbital rotation provides uniform penetration around the circumference
- Stainless steel clamping jaws protect internal surfaces and prevent contamination
- Compatible with steels and exotic alloys, including stainless steel and high‑purity materials
- Powered by SAXX sources (SAXX-210 AVC/OSC or SAXX-300 AVC/OSC) for reliable prefabrication welding
- Multi-function: welding, cutting and beveling with fast changeover using two setting screws
- Designed for workshop prefabrication to reduce on-site work, installation time and rework
What is AVC/OSC?Motorized arc voltage control: AVCAVC automatically adjusts arc tension to maintain a consistent electrode-to-tube distance during welding. This is critical for multi-pass orbital TIG to preserve arc height and avoid touching the weld pool.
The two most common applications:- When mechanical OD gauging is not used: AVC provides contactless tracking with higher precision and faster response than mechanical followers.
- When welding with filler wire and deposition under the electrode varies: AVC prevents the electrode from contacting the weld pool.
Orbital TIG with AVC + OSC + filler wireMechanised multi-pass sequences combine AVC, torch oscillation and wire feed to fill beveled joints on thicker-walled tubes. Typical sequences include root, one or more fill passes, and a cap pass. Oscillation during rotation improves wire deposition efficiency and uniform fusion on both sides of the joint.
