Description
Driven by SAXX welding power sources (SAXX‑210 AVC/OSC or SAXX‑300 AVC/OSC), the SX‑222 delivers a complete orbital TIG solution for workshop prefabrication. Its modular design allows rapid conversion to orbital cutting or beveling, offering flexibility for industrial production lines.

What is AVC/OSC?
Motorized arc voltage control: AVC
AVC refers to the system that monitors and adjusts the distance between the electrode and the tube by controlling arc tension. AVC keeps a consistent arc height automatically during welding, which is essential for multi‑pass orbital TIG welding to avoid torch contact with the weld pool.

The two most common applications

• When mechanical gauging of the outer diameter is not desired: AVC operates without contact and its sensor is more precise and responsive than mechanical tracking.
• When welding with filler wire and deposition under the electrode is not perfectly controlled: AVC prevents the electrode contacting the weld pool by maintaining the correct arc height.

Applications (AVC + OSC + wire)
Mechanized multi‑pass welding combines AVC, torch oscillation and filler wire addition to fill beveled joints on thicker‑walled tubes. The system supports root, fill and cap passes with controlled oscillation to ensure efficient wire deposition and consistent fusion on both sides of the joint.
