Description

Overview
The SX172 AVC/OSC prefabrication orbital welding system is engineered for consistent, high-quality tube assembly in controlled environments. Its AVC and OSC functions provide precise arc regulation and motorized electrode movement, making it ideal for thicker wall tubes and multi-pass welding applications. As part of the SAXX-powered SX-Range, the SX172 supports a flexible 1-machine, 3-application workflow and allows fast changeover between welding, cutting, and beveling with minimal setup time.

Main data
TUBE OD RANGE: 0.625″–6.625″ (16–173 mm)
COOLING SYSTEM: Water-cooled
FUNCTIONS: Orbital TIG welding with AVC / OSC

Product Advantages
  • Orbital TIG welding with AVC / OSC for precise arc control and consistent weld quality
  • Arc Voltage Control (AVC) automatically maintains constant electrode-to-tube distance during welding
  • Oscillation (OSC) system enables controlled multi-pass welding and uniform weld bead profiles
  • Suitable for thick wall tubes up to 12.7 mm (0.5″), ideal for demanding industrial applications
  • Motorized axial sweep ±10 mm (0.39″) for accurate electrode positioning and weld coverage
  • Concentric clamping system minimizes tube distortion and ensures precise alignment
  • Automatic orbital rotation delivers uniform weld penetration around the tube circumference
  • Stainless steel clamping jaws prevent tube contamination and protect internal surfaces
  • Compatible with all steels and exotic alloys, including stainless steel and high-purity materials
  • Powered by SAXX welding power sources for reliable, automated prefabrication welding
  • 1 machine – 3 applications: welding, cutting, and beveling with fast changeover using only two setting screws
  • Designed for workshop prefabrication, reducing on-site work, installation time, and rework
