Description

Overview
Ultra-clean compressed air and high-purity on-site nitrogen are critical utilities in electronics manufacturing, from PCB assembly and semiconductor production to laser cutting, component storage and cleanroom automation. BERG engineers complete turnkey systems that protect yield, reduce nitrogen supply costs and provide one coordinated utility package for compressed air and N₂ infrastructure.

Key benefits & trust signals
  • Made in Germany
  • ISO 9001:2015
  • Oil-Free Certified / ISO 8573-1 Class 0 / Class 1 solutions
  • 20+ years experience

Turnkey engineering & services
  • Site assessment and gas demand calculation
  • Supply of oil-free or ultra-low-oil compressed air to ISO 8573-1 Class 1
  • High-purity on-site nitrogen generation configured to process requirements
  • Full installation, commissioning and lifecycle service support

Oil-free compressed air systems
BERG offers integrated compressed air packages combining KOMPBERG compressors, DRYBERG dryers and PUREBERG multi-stage filtration to deliver clean, dry and reliable compressed air for cleanroom and electronics applications.
  • KOMPBERG — Oil-free rotary screw compressors (ISO 8573-1 Class 0) for contamination-free compressed air
  • DRYBERG — Refrigerant and desiccant air dryers to achieve required dewpoints for sensitive electronics processes
  • PUREBERG — Filtration systems removing particulates, oil aerosols and odours to support ISO 8573-1 Class 1 performance

On-site nitrogen generation — NITROBERG (PSA technology)
PSA nitrogen generators eliminate cylinder dependency and deliver consistent high-purity N₂ at the purity your process requires. NITROBERG supports SMT assembly, wave soldering, selective soldering, nitrogen blanketing and component storage with cost reductions versus cylinders of up to 80% in continuous operations.

NITROBERG specification table
Technology: PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption)
N₂ Purity Range: 99.9% – 99.999%
Flow Range: 1 – 500 Nm³/h
Feed Gas: Compressed Air
Outlet Pressure: 5 – 10 bar

Applications across electronics manufacturing
  • SMT reflow soldering — nitrogen to prevent oxide formation and improve wetting and joint quality
  • Wave soldering — N₂ blanketing to reduce dross, improve wetting and extend solder pot life
  • Selective soldering — inert atmosphere at the nozzle for reliable through-hole joints
  • Component & PCB storage — nitrogen cabinets and chambers for moisture-sensitive and oxidation-sensitive devices
  • Laser cutting & marking — nitrogen as cutting assist gas for clean, oxide-free edges; compressed air for beam path purging and pneumatics
  • Cleanroom compressed air — ultra-clean, dry, oil-free air for pneumatic tools, pick-and-place machines, test equipment and automation

Why switch from cylinders to on-site N₂ generation
  • Cost reduction: typical gas cost savings of 60–80% for continuous operations
  • Purity control: configure N₂ purity precisely to your process (avoid over-specification)
  • Uninterrupted supply: 24/7 on-demand production from existing compressed air
  • Scalability: modular systems that grow with production

Technical specifications
  • NITROBERG Technology: PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption)
  • NITROBERG N₂ purity: 99.9% – 99.999%
  • NITROBERG flow range: 1 – 500 Nm³/h
  • NITROBERG outlet pressure: 5 – 10 bar
  • Feed gas for NITROBERG: compressed air (requires appropriate upstream air treatment)
  • Compressed air quality targets: oil-free solutions to ISO 8573-1 Class 0 / Class 1 depending on configuration
  • Typical project scope: demand analysis, engineered package (compressor + dryer + filtration + N₂ generator), installation, commissioning and service
