HFCT sensors (partial discharge HFCT/HFCT partial discharge) are installed on cable joints and ground wires to couple partial discharge pulse current signals at the cable body and joints. The HFCT partial discharge sensor is designed for high-voltage cables. Based on High-Frequency Current Transformer (HFCT) technology and Rogowski coil principles, it uses a non-intrusive clamp-on structure to capture PD pulse current signals from cable grounding leads. Available in wireless and wired versions, it offers a 1-5000 pC detection range with 1 pC sensitivity, featuring real-time monitoring, threshold alarming, and scalable networking. The wireless version has a built-in high-capacity lithium battery (lifespan > 3 years) and uses LoRa (470-510MHz) for wireless transmission over > 300 meters. The wired version is powered by DC12-24V and uses a shielded RS485 twisted pair with MODBUS RTU (9600bps) for data exchange. Both come with a 30mm open HFCT sensor that clips onto the cable ground wire and connects to the host via a coaxial cable. Users can choose based on on-site power and transmission needs for efficient, accurate cable partial discharge monitoring.DC12-24V wide voltage power supply/ Powered by a built-in lithium battery;LoRa wireless communication >300 meters;1pC high sensitivity partial discharges detection;Split-core type HFCT for easy installation;Magnetic mounting adapts to various cable compartments;LED indicator displays real-time operating status;RS485/ MODBUS RTU communication;Applications:Power plants cable system status monitoring;GIS systems ground wire partial discharge monitoring;Substations, power distribution, and MV/HV transmission lines;Transportation infrastructure power line status monitoring ;Petrochemical industry Power supply systems;Working principle:Installation locationAn HFCT sensor clamped around the grounding conductor captures these pulses and converts them into voltage signals via a high-bandwidth ferrite core. After amplification and filtering, the processed signals are analyzed to determine the type and severity of PD activity.Specification:PD sensor supports two power supply options:Wired Version:-. PD sensor is powered by the HMI through a 24VDC power cable.-. Data is transmitted to the HMI via RS485 communication.Wireless Version:-. PD sensor is powered by internal battery.-. Data is transmitted via LoRa network to a wireless receiver.-. The wireless receiver is powered by the HMI through a 12VDC power cable and forwards the received data to the HMI via RS485 communication.Partial discharge sensor Power supplyWireless version: 7.2V 3000mAh lithium battery; battery life: >3 yearsWired version: 24VDCWireless transmission frequency band470-510MHzWireless maximum transmission distance>300 meters (line-of-sight range)Monitoring typeHigh-frequency pulse currentDetection range1-5000pCSensitivity1pCAcquisition frequency band1MHz-100MHzOperating temperature-30-70°CSampling cycleWireless version:2 hoursWired version:4SPower on/off method (wireless version)Physical buttonUploading method (wireless version)Single manual upload/ scheduled uploadDimensions134mm*100mm*42mm (W*H*D)Mounting methodMagnetic mountingHigh-frequency pulse CTMonitoring principleRogowski CoilMonitoring frequency band3-80MHzSensitivity1pCMatching impedance50ΩProtection levelIP68Dimension82*82*32mm (W*H*D), hole size: 30mmMounting methodSplit-core current sensorMounting locationCable Ground WireOperating temperature-55°C to +85°CDimensions:Category: Partial Discharge MonitoringBrand: Blue JayCommercial name: SCM-PDS-HFCT / SCM-PDSW-HFCTDownloads: SCM-PDS-HFCT-User manual-V1.10 ( Wired version) SCM-PDSW-HFCT-User manual (Wireless version)Specifications / Technical characteristics:Power supply: Wireless version: 7.2V 3000mAh lithium battery; battery life: >3 years.
