Overview
The CNW (Watherm) air-to-water heat exchanger is designed to cool electrical enclosures using chilled water circuits (from a centralized plant or Cosmotec chillers). It is suitable where multiple units are installed in the same system and offers an F-GAS-compliant alternative to refrigerant-based air conditioners. Units are tested to EN 1397 and incorporate eco-friendly fans compliant with Regulation 2024/1834. CE and UL Listed certifications are available.

Installation & mounting
Watherm exchangers can be installed internally or externally on electrical cabinets, making them ideal where minimizing enclosure footprint is important. Drilling templates are compatible across CNW05/10/15 and Compact Protherm CNx04/07/10 air conditioners. Two integrated mounting inserts facilitate positioning and installation.

Available versions (control options)

• Control 0 — Without any control system: water circulates continuously; for applications where no regulation is required.
• Control 1 — Mechanical thermostat control: internal temperature control via mechanical thermostat managing a solenoid valve.
• Control 8 — Electronic controller (XCB) with advanced functions: electronic controller, solenoid valve, level indicator, remote monitoring and many auxiliary functions (detailed below).

Control 8 (electronic board) — additional functions

• Unit status and alarm display
• Alarm contact (exchangeable NO/NC) and remote/door-open contact
• Leakage detection for excessive condensation or hydraulic circuit failure
• Continuous remote monitoring via RS485 and Modbus RTU protocol
• Hot-spot elimination and possibility to read internal cabinet temperature via remote probe
• System redundancy and sequencing for two-exchanger communication (alternation or backup)
• SEM/SEM2 fan-limiting functions to reduce energy consumption at low temperatures
• Drain residual water by forcing valve open (maintenance/transport)
• Parameter view and modification from the display, including °C/°F selection and test mode for start-up checks
