Description

ES-1600 // 4: multifunctional four-roller laminator with bidirectional lamination — up to 1,620 mm wide

The Crest ES-1600 // 4 is a multifunctional industrial laminator with four pressure rollers, designed for high-quality hot and cold lamination, panel mounting and encapsulation. With two heated front rollers (up to 150 °C) and two cold rear rollers, the four-roller configuration enables bidirectional lamination — processing materials in both forward and reverse pass for superior adhesion and bubble-free results on demanding substrates. Maximum working width is 1,620 mm (64″) with substrate thickness up to 50 mm (1.9″).

The ES-1600 // 4 processes a wide range of materials including foam, plastic films, adhesive tapes, vinyl, paper, fabrics, composites, protective foils and rubber. It supports roll-to-sheet and sheet-to-sheet workflows, making it suitable for applications in sign & display, converting, packaging, automotive components, solar panel encapsulation, glass protection and industrial manufacturing.

An extra combi unwind/windup position with adjustable brake and friction control provides additional material handling flexibility for multi-layer lamination and more complex production setups. The four-roller configuration also accommodates optional slitting — for environments that require in-line slitting, the machine can be equipped accordingly. Contact Crest for available options.

Why buyers and production managers choose the ES-1600 // 4:
  • Bidirectional lamination: four-roller configuration with two heated and two cold rollers enables lamination in both directions — improving adhesion quality and process speed on heat-sensitive and pressure-sensitive materials.
  • Versatile process capability: lamination, panel mounting and encapsulation in one machine — reducing the need for multiple production units.
  • Wide material range: processes substrates up to 1,620 mm (64″) wide and up to 130 mm (5.1″) thick, with heated front rollers up to 150 °C.
  • Extended web handling: dual unwind/windup positions with adjustable brake and friction control for multi-layer lamination and complex material configurations.
  • Optional slitting capability: the ES-1600 // 4 can be equipped with an in-line slitting system for converting environments that require materials to be slit to width after lamination. Contact Crest for configuration options.
  • Precision control: adjustable nip pressure with readout, variable roller speed, and temperature control via contactless infrared sensor.
  • Operator-friendly: rotatable control panel, foot pedal for start/stop, removable infeed and outfeed tables, jog mode and reverse operation.
  • Web quality: unwind brake with integrated wrinkle control, chrome-plated idle rolls, and splitter bars for release liner management (top and bottom).
  • Customizable: the machine can be configured with additional options and peripherals to match specific production requirements.

For applications that do not require bidirectional lamination, see the ES-1600 // 2 (two-roller version). Developed and manufactured by Crest Dutch Machinery in Raalte, the Netherlands. ISO 9001 certified. Part of the Crest ES series — trusted in production environments across converting, display, automotive, packaging and high-tech industries worldwide.
