Product description
The DT1104 UI RS4 galvanic isolator provides galvanic isolation, signal conversion and reliable transmission between field transmitters and signal processing units (PLC, DCS). The device accepts DC current or DC voltage inputs and presents the measured value via an RS485 interface using the MODBUS RTU/ASCII slave protocol.

Up to 32 DT1104 UI RS4 units can be connected on a common RS485 segment without a repeater. Key advantages include reduced need for dedicated PLC/DCS analog modules and a single A/D conversion between isolator input and the processing unit, improving overall measurement accuracy (non-linearity <0.01%, temperature coefficient <25 ppm / °C typically). The isolator also lowers field wiring cost.

The device features three-way galvanic isolation: input, output and power supply are separated. Operating isolation voltage is 250 Veff between input, output and supply; dielectric strength 2500 VDC (1 min.).

Inputs and transmitter supply

* Only one input and one output can be used at a time.

A 22 VDC / 24 mA transmitter supply is available at the input for two-wire passive transmitters.

Communication and configuration
The RS485 output allows reading the input value (including physical units) via MODBUS RTU/ASCII slave. Communication parameters, input type, range and scaling can be configured via the galvanically isolated USB port. Front-panel LEDs indicate power and error states.

Devices are available in two power supply variants: DT1104 UI RS4 (24 V ± 10% DC) and DT1104 UI RS4 PS (230 V ± 10% AC/DC).
