The summing type transducers, D80S series, are used in combination with the DER3 differential relays where traditional transducers are insufficient to embrace all the conductors of the primary circuit. It is necessary to install an amperometric transducer (TAB) for each phase and one for the neutral (where available) with a transformation ratio equal to the "breaker current value"/5. All the S1-S2 outputs of the TAB must be placed in parallel and connected to terminals 5-6 of the D80S summing toroid. It is recommended to set an intervention threshold I∆n of the differential relay not lower than 1/100 of the nominal current of the TABs (the latter must be in class 0.5 and with a power greater than 10VA)
