Product overview
GalvanoTest is a coulometric (anodic dissolution) coating thickness gauge for measuring galvanic coatings such as chrome, nickel, cadmium, copper, brass, silver, gold, tin and zinc on metallic and non‑metallic substrates. The device determines coating thickness from the measured current and time during controlled electrolytic dissolution.

Product information
The GalvanoTest is available as the GalvanoTest 3000: a model with a circulation pump and large electrolyte volume for fast serial measurements and improved handling of very small parts and gold layers. Model 2000 is discontinued. The instrument provides directly adjustable calibration factors and settings tailored to metal type and measuring surface.

  • Destructive measurement of galvanic coatings (e.g. Cr, Ni, Cd, Cu, brass, Ag, Au, Sn, Zn) on metal and non‑metal substrates.

Measuring principles
  • Coulometric/anodic dissolution according to Faraday’s law: an electrolyte and controlled current dissolve the metal coating; charge vs time yields thickness.
