Description

Overview of benefits
  • Sensor-integrated digital signal processing (SIDSP) for fast, repeatable readings
  • Wear-resistant probes and high EMC immunity for industrial use
  • Measuring capability up to 35 mm depending on sensor
  • Graphic menus and help texts in 20 languages for field operation

Product information
The MiniTest 700 series comprises three models for non-destructive coating thickness measurement on ferromagnetic and conductive substrates: MiniTest 725 (basic, integrated sensor), MiniTest 735 (standard, external cabled sensor) and MiniTest 745 (flexible, interchangeable sensors with cable or Bluetooth connection). Two measurement modes are provided: Single mode (up to 70 readings/min) and Continuous mode (up to 20 values/s). Data storage and interfaces vary by model.

MiniTest 725
  • Fixed internal probe (integrated sensor)
  • Memory: up to 10,000 readings stored in 10 groups

MiniTest 735
  • External interchangeable probes connected by cable
  • Memory: up to 10,000 readings stored in 10 groups

MiniTest 745
  • Interchangeable probes — internal, external (cable) or wireless (Bluetooth)
  • Memory: up to 100,000 readings stored in 100 groups

Sensors (SIDSP)
SIDSP (Sensor Integrated Digital Signal Processing) places a microprocessor in the probe head to collect, filter and preprocess values. Benefits include improved accuracy and repeatability, temperature compensation, polished wear‑resistant probe tips, individual factory calibration, automatic conductivity compensation for non‑ferrous metals and measurement ranges up to 35 mm depending on sensor.

Applications
  • Small parts, grooves and tight areas (miniature probes, Ø 2.5 mm)
  • Automotive bodywork and variable geometry surfaces
  • Aerospace components with different alloy conductivities
  • Measurements in holes and hard-to-reach locations (tube probes)
  • Corrosion protection on large steel structures (high-volume on-site logging)
  • Dusty or wet environments (heavy-duty probes)
  • Thick coatings (e.g. F15 sensor for up to 15 mm on steel) and highly abrasive surfaces (special probes)

Operation and data transfer
Units are operated via a graphic menu with multilingual help texts. Predefined calibration routines comply with international standards and a special mode supports rough substrates. Data transfer via USB or Bluetooth to PC, tablet or smartphone. Delivery includes MSoft 7 basic; upgrade to MSoft 7 professional available.

Measuring principles
  • Magnetic induction (F-type probes) according to DIN EN ISO 2808 method 7C
  • Eddy current (N-type probes) according to DIN EN ISO 2808 method 7D

Features
  • High precision coating measurement (typical accuracy up to 15 mm depending on probe)
  • USB and Bluetooth interfaces for data export and printing
  • SIDSP for increased accuracy and reproducibility
  • Universal probes with automatic substrate detection (steel / non-ferrous)
  • Long probe life due to wear‑resistant probe tips
  • Extensive statistical functions and configurable block statistics
  • Storage: 10,000 readings (725/735) or 100,000 readings (745)
  • Graphic display with adjustable backlight and user guidance in 20 languages

Supply schedule
  • MiniTest 725, 735 or 745 unit
  • SIDSP sensor (selection)
  • Shoulder bag with belt clip
  • Calibration set with standards and zero reference plate(s)
  • User guidance (multi-language) on CD
  • Plastic carrying case
  • 2 x AA batteries (LR06)
