OverviewThe ERICHSEN LINEARTESTER Model 249 Smart is a compact table-top multi-function tester for evaluating scratch/scribe, abrasion, crocking and solvent/wipe resistance of coatings and sheet metal surfaces. It combines an electromotive drive with a capacitive touch LCD and programmable test motions to meet standard test methods.
Key features- Multi-function: scribe/scratch tests, reciprocal (to-and-fro) abrasion cycles, crockmeter tests and MEK/wipe tests.
- Electromotive drive ensuring uniform slide motion; automatic lowering/lifting of test tool for scratch tests.
- Capacitive LCD touch-screen for intuitive operation and parameter input.
- Electrical scribe detection for reliable testing of insulating coatings on conductive substrates.
- Ruler embedded in the slide plate to maintain constant distances between scribing marks.
- Adjustable test speeds and stroke lengths to match test method requirements.
- Wide compatibility with test tools; tungsten carbide tools feature a distinctive coating for visual wear detection. Optional universal adapter set for user-specific tool inserts.
