DescriptionThe CORROTHERM 610 is a very compact, space-saving corrosion test cabinet made entirely of plastic (polypropylene). It includes all necessary equipment for standardized salt spray and condensation water tests (DIN 50 021, DIN EN ISO 6270-2, DIN EN ISO 7253, ISO 11503, ASTM B117, ASTM B368 T “CASS TEST”). The cabinet volume is 400 liters (610/400) or 1000 liters (600/1000). The front-door cabinet design ensures easy operation and good accessibility of the test chamber. The spray nozzle is mounted on the inside of the rear wall so the full test area is available for sample loading.
Reservoir and operationA reservoir for up to 100 L (400 L version) of spray solution is integrated beside the test chamber, enabling unattended test runs (for example over a weekend). CORROTHERM 610 series corrosion testers are manually operated. Clearly arranged push-buttons are provided for salt spray test, condensation test and fog extraction. Above the eye-level control buttons are the temperature display and the timer; the timer shows test duration and allows automatic shutdown of the device when the programmed test time is reached (e.g. 240 h).
Purpose and applicationFerrous and non-ferrous metals are frequently exposed to aggressive influences such as moisture, acids, alkalis and gases. These materials therefore require appropriate pretreatment techniques and protective coatings. To make tests comparable, test conditions and durations have been specified and standardized in norms. Corrosion protection tests are indispensable for rapid quality monitoring and failure analysis.
