Description

Overview
EXAIR’s Adjustable E-Vac® is a low-cost, compressed-air vacuum generator series with easily adjustable vacuum and flow rates to suit application requirements. Compact and maintenance-free with no moving parts, it is suitable for pick-and-place, box opening, clamping, lifting, chucking and surface-mounting operations. Vacuum and flow are adjusted by rotating the venturi/exhaust and locking the position with a lock ring. A range of suction cups and accessories allow building complete vacuum systems.

Applications
  • Pick and place of parts and equipment
  • Bag and package opening
  • Label placement
  • Vacuum forming and mold evacuation
  • Vacuum filling and leak testing
  • Container evacuation and vacuum packaging
  • Clamping, chucking and surface mounting
  • Paper alignment and feed in printing equipment
  • Carton forming and robotic tooling
  • Vacuum liquids for testing

Advantages
  • Simple vacuum level adjustment at point of use
  • Minimised compressed air consumption
  • Compact, portable and easy to mount
  • No-clog design passes dust and contaminants through
  • Single-stage design for stable vacuum
  • Quiet operation (optional mufflers available)
  • Instantaneous vacuum and fast response
  • No moving parts — maintenance free
  • Durable 6061 aluminium construction
  • Safe operation — no electricity required

Performance (key points)
  • Factory setting: 15" Hg (51 kPa). Maximum on non-porous surfaces: ~25" Hg (85 kPa).
  • Flow and vacuum vary with load porosity; adjusting the exhaust/venturi changes both vacuum and air consumption.
  • Performance examples at 15" Hg, 80 PSIG: 840008 = 8.2 SCFM (232 SLPM), 840015 = 15.4 SCFM (436 SLPM), 840030 = 26.4 SCFM (747 SLPM), 840060 = 62.7 SCFM (1,775 SLPM).
  • Evacuation times depend on container volume; see detailed performance tables on the spec sheet.

How it works (summary)
Compressed air enters the inlet and is accelerated through a single directed nozzle into the venturi. A tangential vacuum inlet located between the orifice and venturi draws air from the suction point; the induced air mixes with the primary airstream and exhausts. To adjust vacuum/flow: loosen the lock ring, rotate the exhaust (counterclockwise to increase, clockwise to decrease), then tighten the lock ring.
