Description

Launched in 2016, Cursor 16 enlarges FPT Industrial portfolio at the top end of its range. With power rating of up to 582 kW, it is the most compact in its category – delivering the performance of a 18-liter within the architecture of a 13-liter unit. This 6-cylinder engine is also the only 16-liter on the market specifically designed to withstand heavy-duty off-road missions. Derived from the award-winning 2014 Diesel of the Year, it provides excellent load acceptance, best-in-class fuel consumption, long service intervals and quiet operation. Its reliability has been tested over 22,000 hours of bench validation. High-resistance components, such as steel pistons and a compact graphite iron cylinder head, have also been adopted to maximize engine durability. Total Cost of Ownership is minimized by best-in.class fuel efficiency, longest oil change intervals and contained engine oil use. Best-in-class fuel consumption (11% better than competitors average) has been reached by downsizing engine displacement and adopting second generation Common Rail with pressures of up to 2,200 bar.
