Description

Overview
The Hundegger WALL-Master is a modular gantry processing system for production and automated insulation of insulated timber-framed wall, roof and ceiling elements. Its compact gantry with integrated control cabinets and mobile operator panel reduces factory footprint and simplifies operation. Full integration with the CAMBIUM software platform supports job preparation and process optimisation.

Machine design & operation
The WALL-Master features a torsion-resistant welded box gantry driven by servomotors on X-axis rails for high positioning accuracy. Integrated control cabinets and a mobile control panel enable intuitive operation and space saving. Linear guide carriages with scrapers and seals reduce wood dust ingress and allow easy access to the element table.

Sawing / Milling Unit
The standard processing unit is an air-cooled 3-axis milling spindle with continuously adjustable speed and automatic tool pickup. Modular expansion enables 4-axis and 5-axis machining and automatic tool changes for varied processing tasks.

Fastening Unit
The WALL-Master uses Hundegger's universal interface so fastening devices from different manufacturers can be automatically retrieved from the magazine. The interface provides mechanical coupling plus media and data transmission and supports a 4-axis tool holder with ±90° rotation for fastening devices.

Table & element handling (SMART-Table)
The system supports flexible table solutions including the SMART-Table modular system. SMART-Table features:
  • Roller grid distance: 1,200 mm
  • Working height: 550 mm
  • Load capacity: up to 100 kg/m²
  • Table elements mounted on Halfen rails of the portal X-guide for stability and flexibility

Element handling modules
  • Clamping systems for element widths from 400 mm up to the configured maximum with clamping pressure up to 180 kg
  • Turning: radio remote-controlled turning for operator safety and compact footprint
  • Lifting: arm module to lift elements up to 70° for crane removal
  • Rolling: fixed, liftable or driven rollers for transport flexibility

Insulation solutions
The WALL-Master family supports three insulation portal variants for automated blown-in insulation:
  • WALL-Master Thermo Linked: suspended portal integrated with gantry (approx. weight ~3 t)
  • WALL-Master Thermo Solo: autonomous insulation portal on X-axis rails with mobile control cabinets
  • WALL-Master Thermo Cantilever: cantilever portal traversing the gantry and rotating ±90° to fill complex contours (controlled via CAMBIUM)

Software (CAMBIUM)
CAMBIUM® is Hundegger's 3D software platform for job preparation, automated calculations, production mapping and optimisation. It enables centralised job preparation at the machine or in the office and supports integration with infeed and storage systems.
