Product OverviewThe HRC Rotating Hydraulic Cylinder is based on the Logansport design and intended for standard industrial workholding and spindle/chuck configurations. Units can be modified for specific applications or fully custom engineered on request. The cylinder is offered with multiple piston arrangements and optional ports/features to integrate coolant, air or sensing systems.
Advantages- Simple inlet design configurable as fixed or reciprocating
- Constant hydraulic flow
- Maximum operating pressure: 80 Bar
- Rotational capability up to 8000 RPM
- Standard built-in trapping maintains pressure and chuck clamp in case of power loss
- Viton seals retain hydraulic fluid or compressed air while allowing internal movement and support
- Flexible piston configurations: single, tandem, through-bore (open center), or duplex
Technical Features- Third Port – optional additional port in the inlet assembly for coolant or air access through the piston rod
- Fast Acting – increased volume flow options reduce stroke cycle time; cycles under one second are possible on a 2" stroke
- Rotating Hollow Tube Trip Rod – optional rotating hollow rod enables passage of air, coolant or oil through the cylinder when combined with a rotary union; trip dog can be fitted for proximity stroke sensing systems
- Variable Pressure Feature – Hi‑Lo pilot port allows on‑the‑fly clamping force changes during cutting cycles to reduce part distortion and improve roundness control
Applications- Suitable for horizontal, vertical or inverted workholding and spindle/chuck arrangements
